About the We ❤ America Campaign
The Idea
On Valentineʼs Day, grassroots groups across the country will come together for a national day of peaceful, visible action rooted in love of community, country, and democracy.
Rather than focusing on forces that seek to divide us, we lead with what unites us: love for our neighbors, our freedoms, and our shared future.
Local groups host their own actions—rallies, vigils, marches, or other visibility events under one shared national banner.
The Framing
This is a patriotic, values-based day of action that reclaims love of country from extremism. Through peaceful demonstrations of unity and joy, we show what true patriotism looks like by celebrating the shared values that bind us together as Americans.
The Branding – National Appeal + Local Flexibility
Official campaign name to use everywhere: “We ❤ Americaˮ
Local branding for signs, chants, and social posts might look like: “I ❤ State, City, or Value]ˮ for personal expression, while events are branded under the shared national banner of “We ❤ America.”
Examples:
Local Event Title: “We ❤ America — Illinoisˮ
Participant Signs: “I ❤ ILˮ / “I ❤ Our Democracyˮ / “I ❤ My Neighborˮ, etc.
Same day. Same message. Local voice.
Why Valentineʼs Day?
Itʼs a national holiday dedicated to love—and we expand that meaning to include:
Itʼs emotionally resonant, media-friendly, and visually powerful. Best of all, Valentineʼs Day falls on a Saturday this year—ideal for mass participation!
What It Looks Like
Rallies, vigils, marches, and other visibility actions
Heart imagery, red/white/blue visuals, signs focused on shared values
Messages like: “Freedom Is an Act of Loveˮ, “Country Over Partyˮ, “Democracy Is Worth Lovingˮ, “I ❤ My Immigrant Neighborsˮ — the possibilities are endless.
Why It Works
Accessible to first-time protesters
Disarming and difficult to dismiss
Unifies groups with different issue focuses under a shared value
Creates a national moment with strong earned-media potential
Counters authoritarian narratives with patriotism, not partisanship
The Ask
Weʼre inviting Indivisible groups and other grassroots organizations across the country to:
Claim the day by organizing a local action
Adopt the shared branding : We ❤ America / I ❤ State, City, or Value]
Plug into (and amplify)the national moment by using the campaign name in your event title, sharing visuals with common hashtags, and adding a tagline to your event description, like:
“This event is part of the national We ❤ America day of action, joining communities across the country in visible demonstrations of love for our democracy, our freedoms, and each other.ˮ
Let's show what love of country looks like by standing up for democracy and standing together for America—in every state—on the same day.
